What is Card Value Scanner - TCG Vault?

Card Value Scanner - TCG Vault is an iOS app that lets you scan, identify, and track trading cards from 13+ popular card games. Using AI-powered card recognition and real-time market data, you can instantly identify any card, see its current market price, and organize your collection.

Which trading card games are supported?

We currently support Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Disney Lorcana, Riftbound (League of Legends), One Piece Card Game, Gundam Card Game, Dragon Ball Super, Flesh and Blood, Star Wars: Unlimited, Union Arena, Digimon, and more. New games are added regularly.

Is the app free to use?

The app is free to download and includes basic features such as browsing cards, searching the card database, viewing current market prices, and managing one default collection. A premium subscription unlocks advanced features including the AI-powered card scanner, interactive price history charts, multiple collections, and direct marketplace links.

Card Scanning

How does the card scanner work?

Point your device's camera at any supported trading card. The app uses optical character recognition (OCR) to read the card's text, then matches it against our database using AI-powered identification. The card's name, set, rarity, and current market price are displayed within seconds.

How accurate is the card scanner?

The scanner delivers high accuracy for cards in good condition with clear text. Results may vary depending on card condition, lighting, image quality, and camera angle. For best results, ensure the card is well-lit, flat, and fully visible in the camera frame.

What are Auto and Manual scan modes?

Auto mode continuously scans for cards as you hold them in front of the camera, automatically detecting and identifying each card. Manual mode lets you tap to capture one card at a time, giving you more control. Both modes include duplicate detection to prevent scanning the same card twice in a session.

Does the app store my card images?

No. Card images are processed entirely on your device using on-device OCR. Only the extracted text is sent to our servers for card identification. We do not store or transmit your card images.

Why isn't the scanner recognizing my card?

Try the following:

  • Ensure the card is well-lit with even lighting (avoid glare and shadows).
  • Hold the card flat and steady in front of the camera.
  • Make sure the entire card is visible in the frame.
  • Try adjusting the zoom level (1x, 2x, or 3x).
  • Use the flash in low-light conditions.
  • Check that the correct game is selected in the scanner.

Collections

How do I create a collection?

Go to the Collections tab and tap the "+" button. Give your collection a name and choose a color. You can create separate collections for different purposes, such as "Graded Cards," "Trade Binder," or "Want List."

Can I have multiple collections?

Yes. All users get one default collection for free. Creating additional collections requires a premium subscription.

How do I add cards to a collection?

You can add cards from the card detail screen by tapping the collection button, or directly after scanning a card. Select which collection to add the card to and adjust the quantity as needed.

How is my collection value calculated?

Your collection's total value is calculated by summing the current market price of each card multiplied by its quantity. Prices are updated automatically using live market data from TCGPlayer.

Prices & Market Data

Where do card prices come from?

Card prices are sourced from TCGPlayer, one of the largest trading card marketplaces. Prices reflect current market conditions and are updated regularly.

How often are prices updated?

Prices are synced automatically. Market prices may fluctuate throughout the day, and the app reflects the most recently available data from our sources.

Can I view prices in my local currency?

Yes. The app supports 30+ currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, TRY, JPY, CAD, AUD, and many more. You can change your preferred currency in the Settings tab. All prices and collection values will be converted using current exchange rates.

What are the Price History Charts?

Price History Charts show how a card's market price has changed over time. You can view trends over 1-month, 3-month, and 6-month periods to help you understand market movements and make informed decisions. Price History Charts require a premium subscription.

Are the prices guaranteed to be accurate?

Card prices are provided for informational purposes only and are sourced from third-party marketplaces. While we strive for accuracy, prices may not reflect real-time market conditions at any given moment. We do not guarantee the accuracy of pricing data and it should not be used as the sole basis for buying or selling decisions.

Subscription & Billing

What does the premium subscription include?

The premium subscription unlocks:

  • AI-Powered Card Scanner (unlimited scans)
  • Interactive Price History Charts (1M, 3M, 6M trends)
  • Multiple Collections (create and manage as many as you need)
  • Direct Marketplace Links (shop on TCGPlayer with one tap)
What subscription plans are available?

We offer weekly and annual subscription plans. Pricing is displayed within the app at the time of purchase. The annual plan offers significant savings compared to the weekly plan.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. We offer a free trial period for eligible users. At the end of the trial, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends. Any unused portion of the free trial is forfeited upon purchasing a subscription.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID Account Settings:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap your name at the top.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Find Card Value Scanner - TCG Vault and tap it.
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to have access to premium features until then.

How do I restore my subscription?

If you previously purchased a subscription and need to restore it (for example, on a new device), go to the app's Settings and tap "Restore Purchases." Your subscription will be restored automatically if it is still active.

How am I billed?

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

Can I get a refund?

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support directly.

Privacy & Data

What data does the app collect?

We collect device identifiers, usage analytics, collection data, preferences, and subscription information. Camera images are processed on-device and are not stored or transmitted. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. You can request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at support@appcellent.co. We will process your request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Does the app require an internet connection?

An internet connection is required for card scanning, price updates, and syncing your collections. You can browse previously downloaded card data offline.

Troubleshooting

The app isn't loading or crashes on startup.

  • Make sure you have the latest version of the app installed.
  • Restart the app by closing it completely and reopening.
  • Restart your device.
  • Check your internet connection.

The camera isn't working in the scanner.

Make sure camera access is enabled:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down and tap Card Value Scanner.
  3. Ensure the Camera toggle is turned on.

Prices aren't showing for some cards.

  • Price data may not be available for all cards, especially newly released or rare variants.
  • Prices are sourced from TCGPlayer and depend on marketplace availability.
  • If prices are missing for commonly traded cards, try pulling to refresh or check your internet connection.

I was charged but premium features aren't unlocked.

  • Try restoring your purchases from the app's Settings.
  • Check that your subscription is active in your Apple ID Account Settings.
